Location

We are located in the Gers a beautiful region which is blessed with endless summer sunshine, blue skies, fields of sunflowers, many vineyards that go to make our fabulous local wines, Armagnac and Floc (an apperatif) of the region. 

There are many small towns with their colourful weekly markets, where you can buy local produce, sit  down at one of the many cafes and enjoy a coffee, a cold glass of wine or beer and just soak up the atmosphere.

A 2km walk or 2 minute drive to Mielan which can provide you with all the essentials you will need. A bakers, a butchers, a mini supermarket, a bank (with ATM), a chemist, bar/cafes, a restaurant and a market every Thursday. 

Travel just 15 minutes and you will find the larger towns of Marciac, Trie sur Baїse and Mirande.  They  each have their own weekly market (on different days), supermarkets and restaurants.

Marciac holds the world famous Jazz festival in the last week of July and the first 2 weeks of August when the town is completely transformed. Pop up restaurants, market stalls, artisans, a central stage with music playing throughout the day and into the night. There is a headline act and support act every night in the main chapeteau that consists of international artists from all over the world and of different genres.

For those wishing to experience the local culture you will find many of the local towns holding festivals, exhibitions and vide greniers throughout the summer.

We are only an hour away from Lourdes, famous for the Notre Dame of Lourdes and for the grotto of Massabielle, where in 1858 The  Virgin Mary was said to have appeared to a local girl. It is a place of Catholic pilgrimage and pilgrims can drink or bathe in the water flowing from the spring there.

Other places of interest nearby are:

30 minutes to Bassouses,  a charming small medieval village with its donjon. You can climb the 197 steps to enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Gers countryside.

35 minutes to Lupiac,  the birth place of D'Artagnan of The Three Musketeers fame.

35 minutes to the city of Tarbes 

40 minutes to the city of Auch

50 minutes to Bagner de Bigorre a lovely little spa town located at the foot of the Pyrenees.

1 hour to Lourdes

1 hour 30 minutes to Bossòst in Spain

2 hours to the Pic du Midi
